Hi, we recently cut cable out and went to Netflix only, however I want to be able to watch more, I have a Nvida shield Pro and live in Florida, have 100mb/s internet. Really looking for nfl red zone, nba, mma, and local chicago channels for the bears games. No interest in international channels. I keep reading about epg and kodi and such, is there an easier way? Just pay, download an app on the shield and watch tv? Really not looking to plug a keyboard into my tv and such. Thanks for any help!
I am also a newb at this, so take my words with a grain of salt.
I've been wanting to try IPTV for a while and UFC 226 this weekend pushed me over the top. I decided to try TNT Hosting due to the positive comments here and the low price. You can find them at https://tnthosting.xyz/ . You can find their channel list here http://dynamiclist.xyz/ . I am not a reseller and make no money from this/them.
TNT has an Android app that should work on the Nvidia Shield. I've been using VLC myself and it works great. I am experimenting with the Android APK today on an Android TV. They have a great support channel on Discord ( https://discord.gg/aZkJA6V ). I don't think they have a free trial, but for $5/mo how can you go wrong?
Some people buy a set top box to make their IPTV behave more like a regular cable experience. I am thinking about getting a MAG322W1 for that purpose. Just be aware that to some degree every IPTV setup requires a few tech skills to get working, put in the right service URLs, potentially ask for help on forums, etc.
So far with TNT I am pleased with the whole experience. Picture quality is much higher than I was expecting, and buffering/freezing is minimal. My advice would be to not be too picky about the provider. Go ahead and sign up for a month with whoever you want just so you can try it out and get experience setting things up and making it work. Later you can try other providers, cancel your previous one, etc. until you find the perfect service for your viewing habits.
