I used Smoothstream as a primary source but it does not provide all the channels that I need to satisify the needs of my watching habits. I purchased a Helix UK option and it works great.
Intially I use Smoothstream and use the HELIX for the channels that are non events...
Now the script has been flipped....
I find myself using HELIX as a primary and then switching to SS when there is a live event I want to watch.
Helix is solid option.
NOTE: Helix VOD needs work but I use TerriumTV for that anyways.
In this game you do need multiple providers. I have 2 but am always looking for a 3rd. Check out NipsatUS or NipsatUK as a cheap backup. Has an active Telegram community as well. Buzz box lets you offset epg but I have not needed to do that with NipsatUS, Epg is good.
I almost think we are the Perfect backup source. Our unique UK Helix only and US/CA Helix only each priced at £4 includes all PPV and 3PM. So if you super popular service gets overload you can watch streams on our service. Those two product is just a simple small list of channels so you would not go over welmed.
Who knows.. maybe we could become your main service over the long run.
Well, how much is your data worth to you? If you lost it could you survive? If so then just back it up to a cloud server, otherwise if no, don't bother with investing in a "cheap" backup solution otherwise in the event you do lose your data you might as well file for bankruptcy as so many businesses do who have either cheap to no backup solution in place.

I have Helix hosting as a backup. I think all these new one like Area 51 TNT and Eternal seem to be very similar in price. I haven't tried External but them seem to have a good thing going. I like the fact the shut down new customers.
That tells me they are going to grow and a good pace and keep there streams up and less buffer like Vader
