Windows program that can stream and record?

by blindfist926

So on my desktop I'm currently using ProgDVB to watch my service, but I'd like something that can record...ProgDVB has that option but only on Pro. I tried NextPVR but it only recorded 3 minutes of the 2 hours I was trying to record. LOL What other options are there?

Edit: Right after posting this I remember about SimpleTV...not pretty but it has a record option. Will try that for now but hope you guys have other methods.

Edit: Edit: Looks like SimpleTV is recording my test...but 15 minutes PAST what I thought to be the stopping point it's still recording. No stop button that I can find besides the obvious Task Manager.

I have used NextPVR for quite a while now and have had no issues with it only recording for a short time like you reported. Also make sure you have a service with several streams available at once. As you cannot record and watch another stream at the same time and that could of impacted your recording.

I also use Plex with a script called Telly and it then recognizes your M3u streams as Tuners. I’m liking this a little bit better than NextPVR as I like the built in guide info better. Caveat being the 1st time you set it up you want to edit your .M3u down to under 400 channels as Plex has a hard time with many more channels and also you will need to manually map the channels the 1st time.
