I do not know about this specific application, but it is usually standard to have a buffer timer on the app. This is the distance between what you are watching and what is live. So your stream will load say 10 seconds of content before you watch it. It is so if your stream or internet drops for a second it will have time to catch up to the stream without you noticing.
