Method/s to Merge or Combine IPTV & HDHomerun sources into one Kodi EPG?

by LowIQ45

Wondering if anyone has, or knows of, a way to combine HDHR Connect and an IPTV source (Vadersteams, Epicstreams, etc.) into one EPG that allows recording from the EPG.

I have a HDhomerun Connect dual tuner (HDHR4-2US-R) and the HDHR dvr service. I am currently using the "Unofficial Kodi PVR for HDHomerun DVR subscribers" on a Win10 PC running Kodi 17.6.

I am not currently subscribed to any IPTV services as I want to determine if any can be combined in one EPG with HDHR first.

I have seen posts that suggest Kodi PVR client addons such as Perfect Player are capable of merging multiple IPTV sources into one EPG but they are not specific to HDHomerun. Similarly, I have seen Kodi PVR server/backend solutions (TVheadend, TV-Mosaic, NextPVR) capable of merging IPTV sources into one EPG but have found none addressing HDHR DVR service integration. I have also seen posts suggesting custom EPG editing such as Xtream-Editor may be used to merge multiple IPTV sources into one EPG.

Seems like combining OTA & IPTV into one EPG would be a common scenario and my google-fu is just weak?

I use TVHeadend to combine OTA with 2 IPTV services into one single EPG, using priorities to set which input source to stream. It's got a steep learning curve but it's quite rewarding when you get it working.

I don't think there will be much which can integrate the DVR functionality of the HDHR. However both DVBLink and TVHeadEnd should be able to supplant it while unifying the diverse sources into a single interface and EPG. DVBLink (TVMosaic now?) definitely can. Then it's just a matter of finding client software (Kodi, WMC, etc).
