Best way to use IPTV + TVHeadend to distribute select cable channels over coax? I assume some type of modulator would be required... Has anyone tried this?

Tvheadend deals with digital signals as far as I know.
What kind of length are we talking about here? Wouldn't it just be easier to use over wireless or Ethernet?
