stbemu buffering starting at 9pm everyday

by etrain1

i have tried 3 different services and always get the same buffering. So, i don't think it is the service. When i am using my phone, on wifi, it starts at 9ish pm. If i switch to data and turn off wifi, it works fine. I spoke with the isp and they swear that they are not blocking. My speed is always good and the speed of my isp is far faster than my phone provider. My android box does the same thing at 9pm and it is hard wired. Can an isp block iptv traffic and allow other traffic to stay at full speed? I know in China, they block google but here I think they are blocking iptv only traffic. When i use a browser from my wifi laptop (using vaders) i get no buffering. Trying to prove to isp that they are blocking

Your neighborhood internet might be overprovisioned. 9pm is peak internet usage time, it might just be your neighbors overtaxing your node?

I have the same issue. Service is great all day, bit at 2030 every night it starts to buffer. I'm going to do a speed test tonight after reading this.

I had a similar issue with a discount ISP. They swore I wasn’t being throttled but when I switched back to the main cable ISP (who the discount one piggy backs from) I never had another issue. Coincidence? I don’t think so.

Do you have cable internet?

If so its just too many people on your circuit, its called the contention ratio and cable particularly is susceptible to it.

Streaming is where you'd notice it most, probably.

Perhaps software updates scheduled for your router or device you're using? Possibility :)

More than likely your isp, or you're just really unlucky with your choice of channels on your provider. Best thing you can try is a VPN on your android box and see if it does it. It's also possible your ISP is over subbed. Do a bandwidth test when your shit goes south and see how much your service has dropped in speed.
