I use my apartments wifi with no VPN. If I use my own network I use or try to use a VPN.

I have a fairly decent size customer base, and I'd say 90 percent of them don't use VPNs.
Keep in mind that the majority of my users are Canadians, and most isps have no issues with iptv so it's not necessary yet (with the exception of some bell neighborhoods).
It's possible some counties use vpn more than others.

Yes.... But it does slowdown during peak hours. I would have to turn off VPN during those hours.
Think about this for a second. In Canada Rogers and Bell are the 2 major ISP because they own all the lines and hardware. TV distribution is also a large part of their business and when the bottom line is affected, do you want to receive that email or letter from them?
No, if you use VPN, you need open VPN all the time when you watch TV.
