Works fine for me apart from the first footy weekend since then no problems at all. Dunno if I am just lucky but I am happy atm.
Don’t know if threads like this can actually be removed but I think it should be. “Stay away from helix hosting” just because they’ve had a personal bad experience is just ridiculous. We all have bad experiences with companies but that doesn’t mean everyone should stay away from them. Jeez.
Trial users go on the nice server. Everyone else goes on an oversold low end box special and none of these iptv reselling hustlers are technical. They are all cowboys with mostly no fucken idea what they are doing. That's why they all use whmc
Ive been with them almost 3 months with little to no buffering ever...I use their APK
I signed up last night and haven't had any issues.
I'll just post my two cents about my experience.
First off, I'm a Fab refugee as well. I heard a bunch of people on this sub recommend Helix, and after getting a 24 hour free trial, it actually seemed to work better for me then Fab. The channels all worked (a couple had minor buffering, but nothing that would prevent me from actually staying on that channel).
Signed up with two devices after that, and I had some minor hiccups getting my Fire Stick working with Helix, which (after creating a ticket) i was given advice on how to work with it and set it up, and Bob was very patient with helping me out. He was fast and very courteous (as opposed to some resellers I've dealt with).
Honestly, he's super easy to work with, and if you have problems create a ticket - it's worked well for me, and unless the service completely and totally shits the bed, I am sticking with it - I've found my replacement.
I'm not saying people aren't having issues, that really sucks (I know on my Mag box, navigating the guide is pretty slow - but nothing I can't handle!), but the service has actually been solid for me.
You did 48hour trial for £1 right? so you will get same username after upgrade to monthly subscription.
Helix don't provide specific username just for trial, so it's gonna difficult to re-route non-trial/trial user
I found their services pretty stable except during football weekend (you just need to find the right channels).
Trial was excellent, still really good for me monthly, EPL etc all working fine. Sorry you are having a bad experience :( (ps I'm just a customer)
Going month to month with no problems to note. Fingers crossed.
Watched the Liverpool game last night with zero issues.
I haven't had any problems with Helix.
Day 8 here and it’s been awesome until the last 36 hours. It’s been complete garbage since Sunday. I’ve reset and tested speeds. It’s on their end as my download is clicking 360mb and upload 32mb and my secondary sub is working. Don’t get me wrong up till Sunday I loved this sub but something is going on and a quick look around you’ll see it on here. Hope they pull it together.....
Fact they advertise and shill here with 50 user every thread, tells you they will go down fast.
It's been working fine here in Ca. The service took a hit during opening weekend of PL but has been fine since. I'm also on a quarterly plan which is still leaps and bounds cheaper than DTV or cable.
I have been critical of them before but it has been perfect the last couple days for me using their apk.
I had the same experience... Trial was great.. Now I barely even use it since purchasing 3 months...
My first 3 weeks were great, crap since. Gone to smooth streams.
some are saying its been great, some are saying its been terrible. i think it would be useful to know the location of the people saying its good/bad. i suspect the uk/europe servers may be overloaded while the US ones may not be.
The most offputting thing is seeing helix advertised so much, links being thrown around, turning into a helix forum at times and with the general feeling to protect services and keep things quiet, seems like one to avoid.
They cancelled my PayPal automatic payment, does that mean anything ?
Terrible. Their support system sent me an automated message too when I said something about it claiming that it was a problem with a server or some shit.
I use them purely for football. Only issue I've had was the first weekend when everything went down.
This weekend just gone I watched games live on Friday, Sunday and Monday with no issues.
I did notice that what should be UK Eleven Sports is actually German so I've raised a ticket to let them know.
I subbed for a month. The first week or so the streaming quality was fair. And then the buffering got so bad that I wouldn't use it even for free.
Switched to TNT hosting and so far so good. Some buffering here and there but nothing too bad. The channels also load much quicker.
Been with Helix a couple of months, again I watched the first Liverpool game and it went down 5 mins into the game and didn't recover for hours. Apart from that it's been pretty good. I am swapping ISP at the end of the month so will be interesting to see if they throttle. Have there been any UK threads on which ISP throttles recently?
Let us know when you find a decent alternative
i had massive buffering issues when I trialled so I gave up. I now use eternal and area 51 both and have very little issues with them at all.
I previously tried out Helix and wasn’t impressed so subbed elsewhere.
It is a new service so will no doubt have bedding in issues but just commenting to say fair play to the Bob lad from Helix for coming in to address the complaints (some of which are conspiratorial, technically unfeasible nonsense)
I am happy with Helix. Their support is exceptionally fast at helping you too
I've been having minimal problems with Helix... certainly nothing out of the ordinary for IPTV services. Overall, I'm happy with my sub.
I'm one who criticised Helix on the first football week of the prem when it was down through most of the games, however they talked about "new tech" being installed and it has been pretty stable in the short time since. Still too early to be writing glowing reviews yet mind. But encouraging stuff.
I believe their trials are on a different server to make it look good (to get you to sub) They are crap anyways....and won't stick around long.
Honestly. I do not get this. Seems like we are constantly the targeted of many attacks here. Our services works great for many people. We are understand that not everyone is in the right location to get proper service from us or they may have an ISP that throttles or does not have proper routing to our service. That is normal as we do not have servers in all parts of the world. However, our services work well for many people. We never said we will work 100%. You won't find a provider that will tell you that they will work 100%. We been fair, helpful and bend over backwards to help people here on reddit... truly sadden us that we are just met with thread after thread of people trying to trash us and in fact many are enjoying our services.
Something to consider when you are buffering.. do you have a multiple line.. are you using HLS since that not compatible... Are you using the right decoders. Just so many variables. Open a ticket so we can help
In the inner circles of IPTV Provider, many have swore off reddit to interact with users for this reason. Hard work is just rewarded with negativity.
It is okay though.. if I help one customer and get them good service it is worth it. Thanks for your comments everyone!
