Was looking to hear from people who own either boxes or even have experience with both. I'm looking to upgrade from my T2, but I'm not entirely sure which one to get between the two. I heard the PVR functions don't work well on the Buzz? Can someone confirm this? Other features I like are the start up app settings (I use it on T2 for DOL), a clean and nice UI, and an EPG that loads quickly.
Z7 is solid never tried the buzz
I recently had the BuzzTV and returned it because the PVR was unpredictable. Sometimes it would record and other times only part of a show, or nothing at all. It was annoying, and made the whole thing a useless feature for me.
Never tried z7, but I went with Buzz because of the very nice, slick and modern looking interface. Works well for the folks, as it is very similar to a traditional cable box.
BuzzTV is fantastic. It lets you switch between players for different codecs and many other features. Go BUZZ!!!
I'd respond to everyone but I'd rather say a big thanks in general for everyone's input so far. Some of the information I've read about both boxes helps with my decision in the end.
formuler z7+ is the current king of iptv.
I'd say z7+ has great UI, had no problems recording, no EPG issue. Overall a great box
Ok so my opinion on this matter is they both have their pros and cons buzz TVs rma service is pretty solid if you have an issue which can be reached here http://buzztv.com/rma/ so in disaster cases were resellers flake your kind of covered. Additionally the fact you can change macs is also a great benefit. What I do have issues is the lack of updates although they keep saying one will be releases soon since july about upgrading 6.0.1 devices to android 7. Formuler on the other hand is limited by its inability to change mac addresses but the fact it can do xcodes and m3u is a significant advantage. If your trying to go and setup a household with all similar devices your real only option is a formuler boxes because of this ability to use multiple streaming formats in the nice UI. Also formuler has a nice remote for android phones which is a great feature as well. If your asking about user friendliness well I think buzz is a little better because it doesn't really suffer from a crazy bug like the standby bug although formuler is releasing another uodate to supposedly fix this issue. Additionally budget wise formuler is a bit more expensive so one really has to ask if its worth it. I personally have both but because of the issues above I puchased multiple formulers for the home. I also have a t2 I can't really say its such a dramatic difference from a formuler either to warrant another 140 dollars just my opinon
I have issues with the Z7+ MOL epg on my Vaders sub since the latest updates. The epg now displays "No Information" on all channels.
Edit: The EPG issue is resolved. There is a required portal change for Vaders since the last Z7+ update.
Formuler. I've had the buzz 2k and 3k both very buggy...
The Z7+ is almost identical to your T2 except for a bit more RAM. Exact same UI.
Z7+ is my fave out of all. I've tried Buzz, Dreamlink T1 and T2 and MAG254.
I've had both and have used both for over 4 months.
Formuler Z7+ blows the BuzzTV out of the water. Buzz was great when I got it. Seems like they have stopped doing OTA updates and its starting to really show its age. The guys and girls at Formuler are continually providing updates to make it a better experience. Not to mention, specs wise they look similar but after using my Z7+ , it blows the Buzz out of the water in terms of performance.
