Sly Sports - What has happened ?

by ianscktt

Hey everyone,

Has anyone else noticed that over the last week it seems that all of the Sly Sports channels have massively reduced in quality ?

I have access to two providers (Helix/King-Box) and the quality on both of them with regards to the Sly Sports channels is much reduced, nothing is proper 1080p or even good 720p anymore it seems, both of my providers had excellent quality and several choices for each channel, now all of them are rubbish.

Strangely the only exception to this is Sly Sports News, which seems still of high(ish) quality.

Is it just these two providers, do you guys with Vaders/Epic/Eternal etc see the same thing ?

We knew this day would come at some point, VM Ireland was the last place using old encryption but were slowly removing HD channels from users unless they upgraded to a card less box.

Doesn't mean HD from sky is completely dead but would be a lot more difficult, as they have to start cloning the actual cable boxes and if it was easy people in the uk would of done it. It's not the cloning which is hard but now that instead of the encryption keys being on the card and times they change in a minute to say 10 times. It's now on it's own chip and the keys change at lighting speeds as the box is linked to it's fibre optic connection and gets any changes in real time

With Sky moving into the iptv world, i hope they follow BT Sports example with the quality of the online streams as win win for us, but this is Sky we're taking about here

I use TNT Hosting and have noticed the same. Sometimes it's 1080p, sometimes it goes down to 576p. No idea why.

Sandanluthar

Sorry do you mean Sky Sports?

wakiani

Yes (ianscktt) i m feeling the same...tried different IPTV providers which were providing great sky sports streams earlier but from a week all the quality of streams (sky sports uk) is not good.

mixterz1985

noticed myself on helix which i have. using darknet the quality of sky seems much better for now.

Globe announce that they UK channels would be 50 FPS. Maybe its including Sky, so they just change it all during international football break.

DresdanPI

Yes. They've shifted from HD to normal SD quality.

Kiwiblogger

Yes quality now poor on my providers as well

thehangryguy

Noticed this myself. I only use Sky sports as a last resort anyway. It seems to work great when nothing’s on but once a match or something starts so does the buffering and stuttering.

crazyfrog00

Yes the quality seems to have dropped drastically. And the Frame rates of the streams seem to be all wrong aswell.

When I was watching practice for Italian Grand Prix last weekend the HD channel card got shut off. From a Sky HD box source. I presume all the providers were using that feed which is why only SD versions available for now.

Im with helix too and noticed the difference from when I was with FAB. Only tend to watch my footy team anyway and the Rugby League, so will find an American/canadian stream as much better quality usualy.

The best is BCE Premium TV. We are using it for a long time. Over 100 Premium Sports Channels ( Sky Sports, BT Sport, Bein Sports, Fox Sports, NBCSN, TSN, ESPN, ... ) only $15/month or $70/year. just search "BCE Premium TV" on Google you will find it easily.

I have Helix too and noticed the massive drop in quality, I'm guessing all these services are sourcing from same source. If there are other services providing HD channels then I'll probably move to them unless it gets sorted... Or have no IPTV at all and just stick with free services because the quality at the moment isn't much better. 🤣

To try to get round this problem i have 3 subs which i believe all come from the same source as the quality is about the same

And all three at the last England match were rubbish to the point there were 4 goals in the match and i never saw one
