Ology IPTV

by estepel13

What's everyone's initial thoughts on it? My Gears subscription through Gabe was de-activated, so I'm wondering if I should just sub directly through Omar for Gears/Mayfair, or check out Gabe's new Ology IPTV.

FYI - there's a free 24 hour trial for it right now. Been using it about 30 minutes now to watch some Sunday Football. Been hopping around games on Sunday Ticket, getting way too much buffering and pixelation, and some channels won't even open ("playback error").

*Final Update* - After spending about 7-8 hours with the free trial, I'm really disappointed that Gabe would even release this product at its current level of development. It needs a ton of work. During the Sunday Night game, the stream was buffering so frequently I just shut it off. Also, the free trial was supposed to be for 24 hours, so I was surprised when I woke up early this morning and got error messages when logging into the app and none of the channels would load. I should've had access til about 2pm today if it was a 24 hour trial. I'm totally speculating here, but I did make a comment on Gabe's YouTube video for this service, nothing aggressive, just constructive criticism and pointing out the sub-par experience so far, and that may have led to my trial being cut short.

It's a $5/month service that goes for $17/month.

Update: The EPG is...meh...definitely not as good as the Mayfair EPG, IMO. They're also not running true Sunday Ticket, they're just streaming the individual games from the local FOX/CBS/ABC affiliate, and calling it Sunday Ticket on their EPG. This kind of sucks since the game you want to watch may get dropped. For example, in their EPG they're showing the Dolphins/Titans game, but if you view it, it's actually the Dallas/Carolina game - since the local Fox affiliate decided to change over to that game.

For $17/month for one stream, I'd expect way more, there's a lot that needs to be improved on.

Now that the Trials are over. I have used Ology for a month now. I have other services.
This is my experience it was a rocky start.
But now it's really stable I'm surprised how stable it is now. It has improved a lot since the first time I tried it.
I think now that the initial rush is over. It might be worth a second look. IMHO

That being said the price is a higher than usual. I have Vader and Kodi solutions as well. But I tend to use Ology more than the others I use them more for archives playback. My wife approves and my kids use it easily so I'm happy with the service.
