What is best: IPTV from Smart TV or from Firestick/box like device?

by ricak

Hello all.

I'm looking to buy a new tv... and one of the things is that I need IPTV in it. I thought it specifically required an LG or Samsung for the TV to support it, but I now understand that it can be streamed from other devices. so I could consider other brands...

First, is it better to stream directly from the TV or from a device?

if it is better from a device... I have a Chromecast gen 2... would it work?

if not, what other similar (not expensive devices) would stream IPTV?

Thank you

If you want to buy a smart tv take a close look at Fire TV edition smart TVs, they likely have the best Android support and will be around for a long while

That said, I'm a fan of dumb tvs and external devices, so you can switch things around every few years. I'm still on Fire TVs for 3+ years now tho...

If you are going to use the TV only for streaming like IPTV and terrarium then smart TV is your efficient choice.

But if you're looking for Kodi, games, etc then Android box is your performance choice

Typically speaking I would say that when the stream is playing there is no difference. Really its just about the interface. If you like the SmartIPTV interface, just use that. If you want a dedicated box with a full remote and cable like experience get a Formuler or MAG device.

Fire stick is crap for iptv, get formuler z7+ for best iptv experience, if you want game etc and 4k netflix get the shield

Dreamlink and formuler

I've used Apple TV, Android Box, and Android Smart TV. My smart tv wins it all 👍
