how can i tell the resolution?

by myktek

I'm a complete newbie here and just started on this stuff yesterday, but I'm pretty technical so I have my setup on it's way. I signed up with Helix and was wondering what is the best way to figure out what resolution the channels are?

I've seen some listed as HD, but only get 480p while on some others I get 1080p; completely varies.

It would suck if I had to go through all the channels (using emby to figure out the resolution currently) one by one to figure out what resolution they are so I can figure out which one I'd like to keep and etc.

Perfect Player shows you the channel resolution in the bottom right corner of the screen

If you have Perfect Player, it will show you whether your resolution is 720p, 1080p, or less than that.

If you wnt your exact resolution, you could get the stream going in VLC and use the option to the media information, which includes the resolution.

ProgDVB on Windows shows all the information, resolution, FPS, aspect ratio, and video compression method.
