IPTV reseller here. Our service includes an Xtream Codes based add-on, it's pretty straight forward with folders for each section. I'm certain other services may have something similar. You can use our add-on or a m3u address to get Simple Client running.
For my personal use and tests a bit of both works well.
Is any specific reason you would prefer to use Kodi as your IPTV player? Generally speaking, Kodi support/development is pretty much dead nowadays since any decent provider out there is going to have an alternative APK you just install directly instead.
On the assumption that there is though, for starters you might want to look first at providers who give you an option to edit out any VOD they may happen to offer (and which just leads stupid long load times ever time you open it). Vader and TNT Media are 2 of the better ones in that regard. Reloaded is also an excellent yet fairly expensive ($18.50 for 1 line) option too if you just want to skip simple client's epg altogether in favor of a much much better one.
I recommend using something outside of a Fire TV anything.... the software is not the issue.
