I have Smoothstreams running few channel on 720 50fps and you are right the diff is noticeable.
Edit: just checked on my backup Helix catchup also has the BT white square (same source)
also h265 that saves a lot of bandwidth

I'm pretty stoked about image quality with my current setup on a 4k/60 capable Shield/TV setup. I don't really have a way to see stream fps, but that's what the Shield is putting out to the TV.
Just got my Apple TV set up on the big screen with iptv and moved my mag box to the bedroom and wow. The difference the Apple TV made. It looks brilliant now on the big screen and I feel like I’d pay almost double what I am now. Great service.
