Best way to watch sports?

by friscofresh

So, here’s the thing. I am a big soccer fan but lately several privatized sports broadcasters in my country pretty much have bought all the rights and licenses to be the sole sources of broadcasting the UEFA Champions League — as opposed to earlier years where the important/most hyped matches were also broadcasted by public TV.

The consequence of this shit fest is that you’d need about 3 different monthly subscriptions to watch all the games.

I am not giving away ~15% of my monthly student job income to these assholes.

Hence, I came to this subreddit. I wanted to ask if there are any recommendations for transforming my raspberry pi into a sports streaming device. I know about Kodi and xbmc and IPTV, but what is essentially the best way to watch sports? (I don't even mind paying for up to 20 bucks a month)

hi there. you can get MAG device and purchase service from an iptv service provider. I am using TVluux service. channels are stable and the quality off the channels are outstanding.

There are plenty. Top tip, search the subreddit for reviews and trials. Take a 24hr trial. Make sure they allow trials during club football (like tonight with the UCL games). I have three providers all providing different services, sports, TV and VOD coming to less than 25 a month in total. If I'm being honest I watch the sports mostly. There are loads of IPTV providers just be aware you don't want to commit more than a few months. They have a tendency to go down etc. Best paying month to month.

Edit: r/iptvreviews start here

What channel were you usually watching it on? https://www.uefa.com/uefachampionsleague/news/newsid=2398198.html?iv=true

Maybe I can find it somewhere for you for free. MAYBE.

I'm not familiar with that device, but if it can support kodi, then just about any service offered in the r/iptvresellers subreddit will do the trick.

I would start with some of the cheaper services like TNT and Helix. If its really important to you to not miss a game, then have two services so you always have a backup. If you live in the UK, you will also need a VPN to watch the games on the weekends.

Good luck!
