Question Mag IPTV vs formuler z7+

by saulin74

I understand this type of boxes are meant for IPTV Providers with Portals and give a better experience than using m3u playlists with other software on Android Boxes.

Are Mag Portals compatible with the formuler z7+?

For those that have used both. Which one do you prefer?

Yes. The Formuler can authenticate with a MAC.

What makes boxes like the MAG, Formuler and Buzz a better overall experience isn't that they use a MAC portal instead of an m3u. The reason is that they have fully functioning remotes and work very much like a standard cable box, which makes the experience of watching TV more traditional rather than trying to navigate through some app or emulator with a 5 button remote.

In fact, the Formuler can connect using either MAC portal, API or m3u and they all work in a very similar fashion once you are connected and watching TV.

Mag is for dummies. If you have techno dummies get a Mag. If you want to PVR stuff, get a z7+. End of story.

I have the old Mag 256 and the Dreamlink Dlite and the Buzz Box Xpl 3000. I don't think the new Mag 322 has playlist url and epg url, it does have portal url. It's nice to have both options. Your Iptv provider also needs to allow recording if you use a Mag, most don't if you care about recording. Mag is pretty much idiot proof, very simple to use. I really do wish they would offer playlist and epg url as well as recording without restriction from your provider, my wife loves the simple layout. I'm currently using Buzz box but the Dreamlink Dlite+ also looks interesting but I have too many boxes. What you could do is get the Formuler box and get the Stbemu app for your portal providers, that way you have recording capability and option to get playlist providers. Although I don't think you would really need Stbemu because the Formuler/Dreamlink/Buzz boxes the default app where you use portal url providers is pretty nice.

Both are good.

Depends if you want an android box where you can download apps, or just a solid linux based tv box that's super reliable.

Not that android isn't reliable, but there's just more to go wrong.

It really depends on the user. If you're tech savvy, go with the android. If you are a basic user, we'd recommend a mag 254 (good lucky finding one) or mag 256.

Don't bother buying a Mag

They run very hot, poor ventilation, domain blocking.
