Tonight I'm opening, in very limited capacity (50 slots), a web-player that's been in the works for the past several months called Thumper. You can sign up at www.thumpertv.com .
The goal of Thumper is to make setting up IPTV as painless as possible while keeping the usual look that you're accustomed to on a traditional STB. There are no hardware specific requirements. The only requirement is a web browser and keyboard.
Thumper currently only supports HLS streams, but if you supply it with a MPEG-TS source it will change the extension and attempt to load a HLS version. Usually sources follow the same URL scheme so you might get lucky and have it work for you.
In the future I plan on making tutorials on how to use the auto-login functionality in combination with auto-launching a browser in kiosk mode to the login link. This will allow you to run an IPTV box with nothing more than a regular operating system. I've extensively tested this with chrome and kubuntu and it works great.
Please send any suggestions for features or bugs/issues to our subreddit at r/thumpertv.
Keep in mind that we are only a media player, we are NOT a streaming service.
Seems like a great way to harvest usernames and passwords. Has your code been audited?
