IPTV player that supports chromecast?

by Aydindril

I signed up to a trial of an iptv service and blew the dust of my firestick. However my firestick appears to be sluggish and it doesn't work as well on there. I can run it on my phone fine, which would be ideal if I could change the player to localcast and play on my tv.

Extreme iptv can't fault it tbh :)

Hello! This topic comes up a lot and unfortunately Chromecast doesn't support native playback of the filetype that IPTV streams usually use (mpeg-ts) you can however get around this by passing off streams to VLC to re-encode. I'm building an app that makes it super easy for you to pass off those streams. Please DM me if you'd like an invite to the beta :)

I use GSE iptv. Supports casting to chromecast. It also becomes a limitation of the chromecast. I find it buffers more on chromecast than on my phone or firestick.

Check out the Server Cast app. Works with any M3U playlist. I used it with. Vader Streams

Use stbemu should work with any provider. The app is a bit fiddly but overall very useable

Going from a firestick to a Chromecast isn't going to be a better experience. Get a decent hardwired device and use it on there or don't rely on IPTV.

In answer to your question though GSE casts to Chromecast.

IPTV Extreme Pro has worked great for me. Pay the few bucks for the paid version. I watch on my phone when out and about, then when I get home turn on Wifi and cast to a chromecast. So no need for a separate app on the phone/tablet to watch on there if you want.

I use GSE on my phone (on WiFi) and Chromecast and it's perfecto!
