VOD???? WHY

by neugamer

Why are so many people obsessed with having IPTV with VOD

If you want a good VOD and care about quality (not saying some aren't) don't look to your IPTV provider let them concentrate on providing quality LIVE TV streams and not bog down there server's or pay a third party for their VOD

I personally pay a whole 9 bucks a month for a emby service that has just about every movie and TV series I could possibly ever want to watch and they are all 1080p and 4k remux's And further more there are so many apps out there now it's ridiculously easy to find what your looking for

All hate aside, vod is put there by providers to delivery content to their non tech savvy clients.

Not everyone knows how to get content. The ones that do likely will not see much value in vod.

I agree, when I got IPTV the VOD was a huge feature but once I found r/plexshares I haven't used VOD in the last 6 months.

I’ve got Kodi, I have no need for VOD. I would rather have catch up.

I don't even understand why anyone wants IPTV except live sport.

Give me a provider who does sport, and sport only and does it pretty well and I am on board.

To me this is a lot like the “You should always have a backup!” posts. Of course you should have a backup and of course you should source your VOD elsewhere. I pay for IPTV for live TV but its annoying as hell when you want to watch a movie and it doesn’t work. So, I pay for a Plex share as well and I get all the VOD content I could ever hope for in far better quality than any IPTV service has ever offered.

At the end of the day, I have 6 IPTV services and a Plex share and I spend far less on TV than I ever did with legit cable that didn’t offer free VOD either!

Why not have it all, live v, great sports. Awesome vod and catch up.....

Because people want it. Trying to get people to believe they dont want something they do seems suspicious to me. Supply what people want or get taken over by the market. People want VOD give it to them. Getting rid of VOD benefits nobody but those who cant compete. Be suspicious of those who try to make you think otherwise.

Why doesn't everyone think like ME?

Only use iptv for live sports and 24/7 channels. Don’t care for the rest of VOD. Movie and tv shows I can get through kodi. I have all my shows saved to my favorites and new episodes show up 5-10 mins after it is done airing.

crdctr

Kodi is my VOD

What is emby?

mrbump34

What is the name of your emby service?

How can I see the content of a plex/emby share without subscribing first? Typically I find what I want via an app like Teatv etc but I can't find myself a good quality version of letterkenny that doesn't consistently buffer.

saipheriptv

Yep your 100% right im a provider and every client ask me for vod and series i had to but other server for them and still they want more :( i prefer use an application like Netflix or teatv as its a big library as they have lots of servers for movies only

fooali

I agree, It seems VOD is there for those that have no clue what torrents are. Every now and again i find myself watching a sports catchup though but 99% of the time i barely use it

jetpac17

I have no need for VOD. I would rather have catch up.

Rifter0876

I dont get it either, sure its nice i guess to have your TV all in one app but really with kodi or one of the apks you can watch anything that has already aired very easily. IPTV should IMO focus on live events like sports.

Just regarding this...

Irun Helix via SmartIPTV and yep, we love our VOD (kids etc)

How do I go about having a massive VOD section through that app with another service? I see BaconFeet is a big player? Is this possible? Sorry, bit of a n00b..

didyouwipeitoff

Hey douche nozzle, many people subscribe to services based on what is advertised. If people want VOD and a provider advertises good VOD then what the fuck do you think is going to happen? Blame it on the resellers. Not everyone is as savvy as you.
