ProgTV is getting a lot of love lately. IPTVSmarters is what most services rebrand for their own apks, so its pretty good too.
I use IPTV Extreme Pro, Smarters Pro and PP.
But the best thing that I ever did was start using MX Player Pro as the external player for all of these!
Dol2 or mytvonline
Mosaic TV Live, looks just like a traditional guide.
I love Zaltv It’s till now best performance for me!
IPTV Extreme works well for me. I like UI better than other apps mentioned here.
I've tried quite a bit in the last 2 months. PP, Extreme IPTV, Prog, and the default formuler MYTVOnline...
the problem is that I don't have enough time to just tinker. Wish I had more time to play with Extreme IPTV.
First off.... MYTVOnline is the best for Catchup. It's interface is amazing, and dedicated epg and back buttons work wonderfully. Being able to long press on the back button and get a list of your last 10 channels is really awesome for channel surfing.
Perfect player is really cool when you use it with multiple playlists, or when you use it with xtream-editor. I feel like I pretty much have to use it due to being subbed with Vaders right now. It also works nicely for smoothstreams. It's also the easiest for scrolling through groups.
One thing that is weird in perfect player is the playback. Seems like different channels sometimes require different settings as far as the HW+, software, hardware decoder go.
StbEmu Pro works well
STBEmulator, smartersPro, PerfectPlayer. The mrs likes PP, customers love smartersPro, personally you cant beat STBEmulator.
r/MyIPTVApp Check it out
I've tried every possible app but still go back to Prog TV. Once you customize it to your liking It's basically a set top box interface. I love the sidebar guide, allows you to watch yet scroll through. Only thing I don't like about Prog is the when your scrolling through the EPG it bounces around on the time.
IMHO perfect player does it all. The pro version can even be set up to act like a cable box: choose the preview option in the first menu, and enable last channel on startup in the general settings.
Other perfect player tips I've got:
press right when watching a channel to get the guide info on screen
press left when watching a channel to go to the last channel (jump between two programs quickly)
long press right in the epg to see what's on later in the day (move the guide up +1 hour)
change the skin to something else, the default purple is blech (I use Sky)
You can group channels and set favourites and all that stuff too, but with my provider I don't really have to bother
