Which IPTV player allows you to record future tv shows?

Formuler Z7+ can do it.

Caveats include

  1. MAC-based services may or may not allow recording - most of them have it disabled
  2. Channels with catch up cannot be recorded
  3. Requires a microSD, thumb drive, or USB hard drive attached formatted in NTFS
  4. Recording can end prematurely if channel cuts out
  5. Other things may cause it to not record that aren’t listed here.

Android APK ProgTV can record as well but will also cut off if the channel cuts out and may or may not start recording when the box is in standby. Recording seems to be more temperamental than the Formuler. ProgTV can do a scheduled recording that isn’t based on the EPG.

...Your much better off to find a service that has Catch Up on a lot of their channels. Some services go back as far as 7 days.

I know smoothstreams does with their Kodi addon. It's not a general iptv service as you may know and is sports focused, although they do have regular channels if they aren't using them for sports.

If you use Plex you can use a IPTV proxy program to use it as a DVR.
