How Does VPN Work ?

by venomxt12

Hi guys.

Let's say two or more people are using the same supplier/provider and are using the same VPN Server, surely this would cut the connection for everyone as the provider would think you are sharing lines ?

Thanks

Iptv providers don't care how many connections they get from an Ip as long as the credentials are different (in most cases m3u username or Mac address)

Therefore vpn is irrelevant.

For this purpose that’s the point of vpn. the provider wouldn’t be able to know since it’s the same IP (vpn) using the same account (provider)

Are you saying paying for one sub but using it twice at once?

Most have an m3u link that has your username and password, http://myiptv.com/vget?username=blindfist926&password=utrythislink , so they would be able to discern who is who from that. Even if you used the m3u file directly, each channel link has a token at the end of the URL, a sort of code, that is tied to your account. Like http://api.myiptv.com/live/1133.m3?token=4as98g7v4a9s841dv9a5sd654f654asdf54u , so again would still know who is who.

There are some providers that don't seem to have any of this security, those are the type of services that can be abused, their links look something like this: http://myiptv.com/live/blindfist926/AMC_HD/1133.m3u , guess they could have an IP lock somewhere in their system but this is usually smaller IPTVs.

I think I know what you're after here. Say you and a buddy split on a "multi-room" 2 connection IPTV sub, as long as you used the same VPN all the time as your "house" connection you'll be fine.

Do this this with my parents house and mine and its the first question I ask when getting a multi-room/multiple simultaneous connections sub. Most don't care about locking to a single IP, just don't stream more connections then you're allowed and you'll be fine. VPN is still a great thing to do though and it'll help you if you wanted to split a real streaming service that will lock it down to a single IP with someone.
