How UK/US ISP block IPTV services, while we are using SSL?

I don't want to knock you or anyone on this post, but this probably the worst place to ask.

Chris Troop from FriendsMTS is all over this sub reddit along with resellers and a few others using whatever alias they have bought (yes they buy reddit and facebook identities to make themselves less obvious). If you don't know who FriendsMTS are, they are the company that enforce the blocks on behalf of the EPL.

Really this sub reddit and resellers just needs to go apart from for those providers who don't provide to the UK as sellers as well as users speak way to freely on here giving out information they know about services like if they done things to avoid blocks or services that are currently safe which just tells them who to target next and where to get a sub.

I can't really go into much detail as they will see this, but I can explain how the blocks work and tell you there SSL isn't going to do fuck all for you. They have bought a sub of you or a reseller, maybe more than one. They then look at your manifest and pick out anything that has to do with the EPL and load the direct channel links into their automated system. This will then just before kick off going through each channel and compare it to the EPL feed they have and if the image matches they will grab the IP of the server delivering the stream and tell the big six in the UK subject to the order to block access to that IP (the system used to achieve this is up to this ISP). The important part there is that they are grabbing the IP of your load balance servers, not your main server but the servers that actually deliver the stream to the client which basically can't be hidden as it needs to be revealed to deliver the stream.

As for how can you avoid it, again asking here is not the place if it can be avoided as you would basically be telling them where they have weaknesses and how to overcome them so nobody in their right mind should be helping you on that front on here.

Finally to clear up some misinformation. FriendsMTS/EPL are unlikely to get your servers shutdown as a UK order only has jurisdiction in the UK which is why they have to target the ISPs. It would cost hundreds of thousands to subpoena or attempt to get a server shut down in another country, assuming that country even cares about copyright where the server is.

Really good traffic shaping, they're slowly clamping down on it.

Your service uses SSL? Download the M3U and verify. I don‘t know any provider (or popular IPTV player!) that supports HTTPS connections.

A lot of ISPs block torrent sites using DNS could this be your issue?

Nice!

As for your question: They probably get trials with you and block the domains and IP addresses they retrieve from the M3U or a network packet capture.

Check that the VM users are not blocked on your sever side. I have seen this before. Only 2 out of the 4 trails i tested allowed me to connect using VM. The offer 2 my IP was blocked server side.
