Question: MAC based vs. App based ??

by EatBread1

Something I still don't quite fully understand. Relatively new to IPTV so I apologize if this is a stupid question but I feel like I'm missing something here...

For folks using an android device (eg. a cheap chinese box/Mibox/FireTV Stick), why wouldn't you just use a MAC based app like STBEmu to view your programming as opposed to using other apks programs?? I understand some providers have their own apk and there are other apks (eg. IPTV Smarters?) available on the playstore. Don't these two options provide the same result? Is it a quality of stream difference? Is it a UI preference that folks choose one over the other? I've only used STBEmu so I'm not sure what I'm missing out on?

It's kinda like some providers have MAC based subs vs. username/password subs -- is there one advantage of choosing one method over the other?

I hope this makes sense....Any insights much appreciated, I'm just a bit confused with these options. TIA.

Each IPTV account can be provided with any format or form you like. You can even ask your provider to give you a streaming line which is paired to a MAC for stalker portal activation like STB EMU. It`s just a choice of apps. For instance you can use GSE Smart IPTV app on your android device but you also can use STB EMU to have Stalker Portal interface. Both can give you categorized channel listing and .... but I`d say STB EMU is much better specially when it comes to buffering methods.

It`s just a choice.

Don't overthink this like Alot of people do lol. Some services are Mac based and some are m3u based. So Mac based services won't work with apps like perfect player or IPTV smarters. Some services have their own apk but you should be able to use whatever app you choose as an alternative. Some subs use IPTV smarters as their rebranded own apk. Just use what works best for you.
