I have read, perhaps on this website, a number of times that it's better to buy from vendors which focus on a limited number of countries, rather than buy a service which offers thousands of channels. Is there any truth to this claim? Is it the worth the money to buy two individual country-specific services, instead of buying one which covers all countries. What are the benefits?
Half the time the foreign channels are hit and miss. Some apps let you remove the foreign channel folders you don't want to see. A service that promotes 10,000 channels is useless if the main channels you use buffer or don't stream well
Almost all providers our there (even us) do deal with the most reliable source they can find. This is, a provider should get UK channels from a UK source, Italian from an Italian Guy .... Also the provider should be specific about when the bouquet was updated, how stable it is, does it have EPG or not, how many different picture qualities available on highly demanded channels ... these details should be provided on a channel list page on their website so clients know what to expect. A provider with X+Y=Z amount of channels wont be reliable just because they have that amount of channels. They need to be specific and thoroughly explain the details of their provided channel list.
Which iptv providers only offer 1,000 channels? Everything i come across is between 5-12,000

Services that try to package in thousands of channels end up doing a half assed job of keeping all of their channels up. You also have to factor in the impact on a server that pushes maybe 1000 channels vs one pushing 10000. Even if they’re just restreaming, it’s a lot more work to keep everything running for the latter service than it is for the former.
I would rather have a service that focuses on content that interests me and doesn’t try to play the channel number game. It doesn’t make a difference to me if you have 1000000000 channels if I’m only ever going to watch 20 or 30 tops and reliability of the channels I want is far more important than a bunch of channels I don’t care about.
