remote access android box (teamviewer)

by Renrut23

So I've converted my Dad and girlfriends mother to IPTV. Both of them are about 45 min drive in opposite directions from me. I have teamviewer on my pc and my android boxes, but all i get is screen capture. I cant actually do anything remotely, they have to do it. Is that a feature that is only in the paid version? Is there an app or something better to be able to do this with?

I have buzztv, my dad has dreamlink and he lives in different country.

Pretty standard version of teamviewer from default app stores on both boxes and my free personal use teamviewer on my laptop.

Full control, works like a charm

So maybe try reinstalling apps to make sure everything is fine and upto date. Also use remote access when you try to connect rather choosing other option.

Also free versions works fine, dont waste your time/money for paid or different apps.

Just install the host on the box. Then run it. It well ask u to install a add on. Say yes. Then close it and open quick support.

If they have a PC you will be fine.

It's a little bit complicated to setup but once it is done it work really fine.

First your android device need to be rooted.

You have to use Scrcpy so download the latest version from here: https://github.com/Genymobile/scrcpy/releases and choose the 64 bit or 32 bit version according to their computer.

Unzip the archive and put it on their computer in a folder somewhere hidden from them, only you will use it when you want to connect on their computer.

You will also need to download this batchfile from my dropbox to be able to use it with a TV-Box: https://www.dropbox.com/s/0mo1j2i5azl0ubj/ScrcpyWifi.bat?dl=0

This is is the file you will use to start "Scrcpy" on their computer.

But before you will have to put their box in dev mode on their box: https://www.digitaltrends.com/mobile/how-to-get-developer-options-on-android/

You will also have to install this app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=mattiesworld.gotdns.org.adboverethernet on their box to have a bridge over Wifi with ADB since it's the only way to run ADB on TV-Box.

You will have to edit the "ScrcpyWifi.bat" to reflect the IP adress of the TV-box tou want to control and don't forget to tick the box for the auto start.

Now you can test it on the computer to see if all work... when everything work fine you just use any remote software to connect on their computer from your home and you start "ScrcpyWifi.bat" and you will have full access on their TV-Box.

I use this setup since many months to help my friends with Android TV-Box or Tablet and everything is fine. ☺️

No you need to install Teamviewer and an addon.

It supposed to install when teamviewer is installed. It needs to be installed on the android boxes.

Teamviewer host appears to be the newer software which is riddled with issues.

This post is totally off topic for IPTV but anyways you may be able to work around it by having them run TeamViewer on their computer and use it to connect to the Android box with scrcpy

As you found out, TeamViewer doesn't support remote control on a LOT of devices
