IPTV / Amazon Fire TV Cube Question - Best M3U client?

by tokenirishguy

Hi,

Noob to the IPTV world and have a question about the best M3U client available to me. I already have Kodi installed on the device.

Should I use the baked-in PVR IPTV Simple Client to access my M3U list or is there a better client, either within Kodi or as a download direct onto the Fire device?

I've seen Perfect Player mentioned in other posts but was curious if there are others I should investigate?

Thanks!

Perfect Player's playback is a lot more stable then kodi's nowadays (pretty much anything is mind you, but PP is notably better then most of those as well), although you do make the trade off of not having a guide that can easily scroll backwards/forward in time like Kodi's can. That said, PP also tend to counter that con by allowing you to load multiple providers on it to scroll though, where as simple client limits you to one.

It really boils down to a matter of preference, and just how much you care about having a decent guide to channel surf on. Other then one fairly new APK, that is still is a (promising) work in progress and somewhat buggy, there really isn't any decent/non-clunky guide options besides Kodi/PP.

I have been using perfect player with no problems. I did add a Ethernet adaptor as wifi congested where I live.
I did try pvr on Kodi as well and found perfect player to be easier for wife and kids to use.

I prefer iptv to be outside of kodi setups and perfect player is one option!

I would stop using kodi and keep it simple, Definitely agree on Perfect Player its a good choice and most common.

Perfect Player is pretty good. But I wanted DVR, so I set a tvheadend server up on my sonarr, radarr, jackett, plex, deluge, etc... server (a rockpro64 in the nas box). Then I used MrMc (a kodi fork), as I liked the integration of Plex. Then I just enabled the tvheadend service in MrMc. Nice Guide with DVR features.

An alternative I’ve used is IPTV Extreme and SmartersPro

IPTV extreme is good, but doesn’t have catchup.
