I've been recording a channel using VLC but occasionally it cuts out for a short period of time and VLC just jumps to the next channels and gives error messages and doesn't wait for the signal to return. (Even if it waits to reconnect the VLC recording stops)

What's the best way to continually record even after the channel cuts out? I like the quality of the VLC recordings and would rather use something like that which is built into the software instead of screen recording it
