HELP: How to Set EPG ID with Xtream from Helix IPTV

by hroses7

Hey guys, I’m new to IPTV and after initially setting up Perfect Player, I thought I could get past using xtream editor because it seemed like a headache in the making. After a few hours using PP, I now see the need for Xtream as navigation is a bit difficult.

Problem: When I tried to setup my lists in Xtream, many of the EPG IDs from Helix didn’t seem to transfer over. Not sure how I go about putting the correct info in this area to ensure that the guide shows in PP. Can someone direct my to a guide (not the Xtream guide please)?

Also, I’ve heard ProgTV is really good but I couldn’t get it to open the URL from Helix so gave up. — Open to switching from PP if it means a friendly interface to navigate through channels and group.

Thanks for any help!

Paste a line and let me see what it looks like.. take a few characters out of the username and password because I don’t need that. I’ll see what I can do.

What about using Xtreams EPG assignment?

I've found just using the app off their site, if on Android, is the easiest approach and fairly friendly once you understand the channel grouping.

Their EPG does leave a bit to be desired as not everything is accurate (some sports packages, certain variations on a channel (easy vs west for example). From my trials at getting things working in tvheadend, I think its because their epg xml merges a few epg sources together and some info gets lost when this happens due to similar/same channel names.

There is a ton of setup / view options directly within Perfect Player. Hide / show groups, channel logos assignment, etc. You can do a lot of cleanup directly in the program. Takes some exploring.
