Emulating informir Box with STBEmu Pro

by rimmi2002

Hi,

I recently signed up for IPTV service from a Canadian provider. They sell their own boxes (though I can buy my own and they will activate it). They gave me a mag 254W2 box. The service only comes with one connection. They only asked for the MAC address to activate the box.

I have 2 places to watch TV in my house. Instead of moving the box from one place to the other, I would like to set up the service on the other TV through fire stick.

I downloaded and installed the STBEMu Pro app On my fire stick. I set it up to use the same portal as the box, to have the same MAC address as my MAG252w2 box and to have the same serial number. However when I try to log in with the STBEMU app, It tells me the portal is not ready. I have my original mag box power down when I try to run on the fire stick.

Am I doing something wrong or does the provider have a way of knowing that I am connecting through the firestick rather than the original box even though I am using the same MAC address.

The provider will not provide support because they want me to buy another box and connection for the second line. I prefer staying with one connection and using it at the location I want. I never watch at both locations at the same time.

I would like to stay with this provider because they do a good job of providing the channels I want.

Any help would be great. Thanks

I've had this issue before and the solution was to copy more info from the mag box to the StbEmu app. Things like device id, device id2, signature, etc.

I've linked an old thread on how to do it using the wireshark app that basically sniffs this info from the box when you hook it up to your computer.

I haven't tried it in a while, but at that time that was the only way.

If I'm not mistaken, the actual mag will lock to the account, so if you try to put the same Mac on stbemu it will say something about it being used already. Not too sure if error msg.

If you have 2 android boxes and setup stbemu with same Mac on those 2 then you can use them with no problems.

*But there may be a word around if you copy all the settings of the mag, like device ID and what not

MAC based services are meant for 1 connection only so it makes sense they make it difficult for the average user to use it on multiple devices.

My advice, don't be cheap and get a second sub. Even better get a different second sub and that way you'll always have a backup.

Even if you get 2 subs it's still cheaper than cable. And if you're in Canada 2 subs is average around $30. I'm sure you're reseller will give you a deal on multiple subs. I do.

Or as someone posted already, get an m3u sub like ok2. Use 2 devices you can install an app like iptv smarters and you're set. then you can use 1 sub on more than one device just not at the same time. But you alreaydy have a mag so you're stuck with a mac sub.

If you download an app like Smarters IPTV app, I can solve your problem. Download this app on your devices, PM me and I will sell you one account and you can use wherever you want since you already said that you only watch at one location in any given time and not simultaneously. I have a better service and give you a free 24 hour trial so you can test my service.
