Hi there, just wondering if anyone managed to get IPTV to work on a Android Car radio unit? If so, did you have to root your unit?
Also, what app are you using to watch/load it and what IPTV service are you using?
Thanks

Smarters on mine
Vader's with perfect player. However due to most of the channels being hd on 4g they tend to buffer often
I find using mobdro much more stable.
I wish it could be done in Android auto. But I don't see why any other Android ones or using an MHL like adapter wouldn't work
Perfect Player works well, it hits every feature IPTV offers (VOD, Catchup, Timeshift, EPG), but like everyone else said, you'll need a good connection.
A backup/alternative if you don't have a fast connection is to setup something like Telly or Xteve with Plex Live TV (I think premium required, not 100% sure). If your Plex server and home internet speeds are good enough, you can use Plex to transcode IPTV streams down to a lower quality/bitrate, so you can stream smoothly on a slow connection. IMO, a 480p .ts stream is good enough quality for a little 6-7" screen anyhow. You would use the Plex client app to play IPTV in the car, Plex also does music/movie collections, so could be a neat 'full' solution. Blah blah, yes, Kodi can do all of this too, I just prefer Plex > Kodi UI.
I used Plex at home on my Android TV, works well for IPTV there too :)
If you want to roll your own (free) transcoding like Plex does, you can check out TVHeadend.
I put Vader’s on mine. Just downloaded the apk in es file explorer which was preloaded. Works fine but have a problem keeping a fast enough internet net connection
