Smart IPTV on Samsung or LG

Hello!

I have been using the Smart IPTV app on my Samsung Smart TV for a little over a year now switching from priime iptv (now called shark I think) to helix (thanks to many reviews here).

The problem I'm facing now is an abnormal amount of freezes, asynchronous audio and general downtime.

I have tried on five different TVs in five different homes, the only thing they all have in common is using the app Smart IPTV. Though convenient I fear this might be the cause for the problems I have had in the past (e.g. freezes in 30 second periods, whereas VLC froze less on my PC or did not freeze at all).

tl;dr: My question is: Will using a MAG box make any difference? What do I need to prepare myself for when using a box?

Could be both the app and or helix. With say STB emu app for Android you can change the default player the app uses which can help. With that smart TV app you can't do this, when the app loads click ok till you reach the system page, in portals click load portal delay set high see does that help. try change from WiFi to Ethernet cable if not already. I also have helix on Samsung TV same as you, use as my backup . Main provider on my shield TV through emu app which rarely has issues. Best bet try get a trial with a second provider (you can have multiple providers on the Samsung app) and compare.

On the Samsung version of the SmartIPTV app you can increase the buffer time in settings. May help to increase it a little (may mean the channels are slower at initially loading)

You could try a free trial from another provider I personally get no problems from the alt tv club also try deleting the app and reinstall sometimes they don't update correctly

Test the actual service first dude, I'm guessing you are using an m3u link so try it on a tablet or your phone for a while. Then you could probably say maybe the app is the issue. Not sure on SIPTV if there are any options for hardware acceleration? I've seen this with Smarters a lot. Works fine for ages then lots of burring and turning on hardware acceleration and bingo....perfecto! Worth a shot

Get a nvidia shield and skip that mag box.
