Advice for first iptv device. 1080p. LAN cable capable.

by goldzhere

Hi guys, as my title says I am looking to buy my first iptv device to use on my rental place which has a TV that doesn’t have 4K. I am open to a 4K box but i would rather try out a starter device and go for 4K device when I buy a 4K TV as I would also be familiar with the tech by then.I’ve recently moved to Toronto from India and found the cable options absolutely shit so have decided to opt for iptv. I can use a LAN cable which I’ve noticed while reading about iptv boxes on Reddit gives better result than Wifi. I am on bell 500mbps Internet so I am guessing speed isn’t an issue. My budget is 120 CAD, that’s the max, the lesser the better of course. Also I have a few queries: will all services be supported by any device I buy or should I research the providers first and then decide on the hardware. Let me know if you need to know any other details on my requirements. As for services: I am looking for good providers for Indian channels and reliable EPL content. And is it true that adult channels can also be accessed? Well that’s a big plus 😃

Any advice would be appreciated guys and thanks in advance to those who’ll reply 🙂

Call me crazy but a 4k firestick should meet all your streaming needs. You'll have plenty of money left to pay for your IPTV service

There's a link to a guide I did a while ago.

I would ask if you only plan to use this for IPTV or if you want to be able to watch Video on Demand or use other apps on the device, like Netflix or Youtube?

Overkill and hard-ish to find in North America, but find yourself an Enigma2 capable satellite box. I ordered an Octagon sf8008 from the UK and my god it’s been the best IPTV experience I’ve had so far! Fully customizable skins and an EPG like all the big cable companies have. You don’t need a box with all the extra dvb tuners, just something you can install OpenATV on (it’s a custom firmware)

So far I’ve used and abandoned: Formuler z7+ FireTV box (not the stick) Various Amlogic devices like s912, 905x2, etc... AppleTV Oh, and a mag322w1

I spent less than $200 cdn after shipping and import fees, but I know you can shave about $50 off that if you dig around a bit on eBay.

Just my thoughts.

Good luck!! 😊

Mag box is cheap option. Reliable and straight forward to use.

Unless your completely thick and can't type then yeah it's simple, How hard is it to install let's say smarters app,you type a URL in downloader app and then press install. Then open app, input username/password and Ur good to go,not rocket science.

Why the fuck are so many morons going on about 4k still. Some providers have 4k, but 4k is still in testing. The streams will be literally brought down to their knees, and they will be SHIT. There is very little 4k content in the real world. Your budget of $120 CAD is also extremely low for a competent box. This is like saying "I want a T-Bone steak, and I don't want to pay more than $5 for it." You can get a box that will do it, but you won't be able to get a great box. You will have to know how to do a lot of your things, ie, get a box from China, flash a custom firmware on it, etc.

Judging from your post, you know absolutely NOTHING about what type of experience you want. Do you want a cable box experience, which would mean a MAG, or do you want more customizable, meaning something Android based like Z7+ or a Buzz, or even an Enigma. Which all these options are already out of your extremely low budget. You need to spend money on a good box for a good experience, and you've already shot yourself by saying you aren't going to do that. You might as well go back to legit cable because you're being such a cheap fuck.
