I'd not bother with a Roku. Firestick as a budget option would make it so much more enjoyable & easy.
I Threw my roku in the garbage n got a Firestick 4k on sale. Very happy with it
I have tv cast via cel to roku and. 100 up
I have a Firestick in the HDMI port of my RokuTV :-) Even turned off the network of the TV itself. Roku used to be so great.
However the Plex LiveTV/DVR solution will work on Roku itself, but your guide/tuning experience may vary depending on your IPTV provider and the number of channels you have.
Personally I prefer the native IPTV apk provided to me
Buy a real box. Roku is hardcore legit only. Sorry, but they are almost as bad as Apple in the way they control what you do with your hardware. :). Get something Android based, or a MAG.

You can use Plex or Emby.
