Is Kodi the best IPTV software? What is the best IPTV software for you?

by Sn00pies

I’m still thinking that Kodi is the best. But in the other side, I think that there are still other IPTV softwares that are much better. ——————————————————————— I’m planning to get a Helix monthly plan with worldwide channels in it. What’s the best IPTV software to play Helix channels?

Android tablet: I'm using Perfect Player

Desktop: ProgDVB

Android TV box: Main is MyTVOnline (Formuler Z7+) or again Perfect Player is still good here.

Android Phone: Still Perfect Player for me.

Roku: TVCast was working well for me, I haven't checked it in a bit but I "cast" the link from my tablet and it plays on the Roku. I say "cast " because I can turn off my tablet and the stream keeps playing, so it seems to just hand over the link. FYI, the links have to be in .m3u8 format as the Roku doesn't seem to know how to stream the .ts links.

I don't like to use m3u playlists for one reason, it doesn't support big IPTV providers that have a lot of channels and VOD.

My first experience in IPTV was with a MAG box, and once you go MAG you never go back.

For SmartTVs (Samsung Tizen and LG WebOS): SmartSTB

For iPhone/iPad/Apple TV: Ministra player (if supported) or Xtream GO

For Android/Android TV/FireTV: STBemu

For MAG boxes (Linux or Android) : Stalker player

Btw i hate Kodi(XMBC), i don't like their UI

Apparently I'm in the minority here but i actually prefer using kodi on my firestick

Loads faster than the iptv apps and the guide is perfect. Also nice to have my "on demand" movies and tv shows easily accessible.

Not kodi

strims_world

For tv boxes and andoid tv : perfect player and siptv

For android phone: iptv pro

For iphone: gse

For pc: perfect player and vlc

This is my fav. List

Imo kodi is just overkill for iptv.

Blue-Thunder

Kodi is a steaming pile of shit for IPTV.

tehans

Anything but kodi. I like a portal base sub using stbemu

highlightiptv

STB EMU for Android Or Smarters IPTV Pro .

If on a smart tv with limited app availability then Siptv.

briabbmitch

Others may disagree but I love the ease of use that comes with the smarters app. You can easily use the parental controls to hide all the categories you don't want

sovietmule

I use kodi for two things: iptv for live UK sports & streaming whatever film or tv series I fancy watching.

I have used kodi on pi boxes for both needs for many years with no problems.

I use smarters on my android stuff, again, no problems. But I only use my android stuff for live sports, no films or tv etc.

Is kodi overkill for iptv alone? Maybe ...

But, if you install the right kodi addons then you don't need to look for 'VOD', 'Box Sets' or any of that kind of shite that so many seem to offer.

EDIT: clarification

PROGDVB for desktop

Perfect Player gets my vote.

anekin007

They have their own apk. It’s pretty good. Long time perfect player user for 3 years. When I switch to helix I tried out their apk and been using it since.

Fastest is Smart IPTV, also very easy and convenient to use. If your provider offers catchup, then Perfect player makes sense. In any case I can recommend using Xtream editor, that helps to cut your list to only the channels you need, organize them in groups how you like them and syncs with your provider (at least most of them are supported).

For Android boxes: LiveChannels, TiviMate

Helix has a kodi addon that loads pretty fast and has basic program inof integrated into it
