I'm looking for an IPTV player app that will do scheduled recordings to external storage, preferably TIMER based scheduled recording because the primary thing I want to record is sports and need a way to account for potential over time. My service is m3u based, and my device is an Nvidia Shield with latest OS.
I've come across a few different people suggesting ProgTV. I installed it, got it all setup, but when going into the options and choosing the recording directory it only lets me choose locations on the internal storage.
Can anyone suggest an app that can accomplish this, or tell me how to get ProgTV to use the external storage as the recording directory?
One method that I’ll vouch for is using Emby. Not sure how well it works if you run the server on a Sheild (but I‘ve heard it is possible). I run the server on my PC and my brother (who lives in a different city) uses it to watch/record thing on his Shield
It takes some getting used to and requires Emby Premiere ($5/month) but setting recording is a breeze and I can access my IPTV and recordings anywhere and on any device
One thing that sucks is it butchers the way that channels are ordered. There is a tedious method to manually reorder them but the devs are very active and open to feedback. A full blow channel management feature is supposedly in the works
