Starting point

Completely new to IPTV. I read the sticky thread and it was helpful. I plan on buying 3 or 4 trials and evaluating them. I was hoping, though, if I could get a few recommendations to point me in the right direction. Cost isn't a factor if I'm paying for a good service. Would need to be compatible with an Android TV (through Kodi?), Separate android box and an Nvidia shield. I'll really only be watching north american content for the most part so it would be a plus if there's a way to hide unneeded channels. Thanks in advance for any help.

I personally use Helix. It’s about $8/month. Decent sources, HD, backup channels, ect. I have it setup with a plugin on my plex sever.

You don't need to buy trials the majority of them are free but the best you can do is read the reviews from genuine users and go with there recommendations. Unfortunately, you will most likely get swamped with offers, but be very wary there are a lot of sellers pretending to be users and there are a lot of users are been paid to recommend certain providers.

I would look at providers like root-hosting or eternal.tv if they are open to new subscriptions, do not buy any subscription for any longer than 3 months keep your expectations as low as possible and only invest what you can afford to lose.

Another consideration is how many concurrent connections you need? Most give you just one or two without paying for more. If you need more than that, then look at services that have options for that.

Beams has been great for me but its pricey, takes Bitcoin only, and extra connections are not cheap. Best quality and stability I have found though.

Vaders has been my go to service for over a year. 5 connections allowed, great picture quality and stability, for me, has been outstanding. They have made a lot of changes to their system this year and many people have had major issues, so beware that my Vader experience may not be your Vader experience.

Proton is one I’ve just recently tried and have been very impressed with. Again, though, single connection. They do offer a second connection option, but if you take that option they lock the service to your IP address. Meaning you can only ever use it in a single location. That means its always a backup service for me.

Thats another thing you should strongly consider. Putting all your eggs in one IPTV basket is not smart. Try several, as you said, but keep at least two full time. If one goes down, which is inevitable, its nice to have something to fall back on.

Hia, from me I’d say...

KODI is okay, does what you need it to, but I find ‘IPTV Smarters’ the way to go, it’s on Android and iOS plus my mother can use it so it’s pretty user friendly!

I had Flawless back in the day and loved it, have bounced around a few others until I have recently settled with JD Solutions (Beams TV) has a really good selections Live TV and the VOD is pretty sweet! Again, there are loads out there so it’s personal preference- I would deffo suggest getting a trial of JD Solutions tho!

All I would finish with is 100% go look into that Smarters app, it’s tidy 👌🏼

I’ve teated more than 10 services in the las 3 months. To be honest so far i‘ve found #1 Eternal tv $8 3 cons. #2 Onestep tv $25 4 cons. #3 Obey stream $20 3 cons. #4 Kodi solutions $10 5 cons

Also gears reloaded $15 for a single cons.

Like i said tried more than 10 in the past 3 months and those are my top 4 .

Didn’t try doble agent, TNT, area 51 or helix .

I’ve tried a lot. The ones I chose to keep are Vader’s - Beast - Proton. This stuff is so cheap why not have a few to play with?

Vader’s - allows 5 connections - has great archive Beast - has awesome sports feeds 60 FPS. Proton - nice mix of channels, great service especially if you’re just starting and may need help.

Your program matters a lot too. Perfect Player is awesome and I have all 3 providers loaded into this one program and just switch when needed.

Perfect Player on a Shield is a smooth fast experience - and does everything you’re asking for.

Depends on what region are you looking for? Us or uk Keep in your mind one thing DO NOT TRUST CHEAP IPTV like $40/year something like that

I’m currently using Area 51 as my main and venom as back up. Working great so far!
