I am looking for a device or an android app that can record several channels simultaneously (and record while watching a different channel). It needs to be user friendly as it is for my parents (cable-like look-and-feel preferred).
I've looked into Formuler z7+ and BuzzTV XPL 3000 and I really liked their interfaces because they provide a cable-like experience. However, it seems that it is only possible to record one channel at a time :(
I know that many providers have the option to time shift many channels, however my parents are mostly watching unpopular channels which means that recording is the only option.
The problem will be that you need to be connected to multiple streams simultaneously in order to record multiple streams simultaneously. So you will only be able to record as many things as you have connections available from your provider.
For most services, thats one or two connections. Some, like Vader, allow up to 5.
To answer your question, though, the only box/system I know that would be able to do this for IPTV is Enigma2.
