Need some details to be able to help. What's the box name/model? Does it go straight into the service when you turn it on? Does the app that opens up have a name? Are you able to access any sort of regular Android like screen and have access to the Android store?
First of all: What kind of box did you get? Maybe he did install some software to lock you in.
