PVR IPTV Simple Client and EPG Setup problems

Tried posting in the Kodi forum but it keeps deleting this as its IPTV related.

I've started using an IPTV setup that runs through the Simple Client. It connects through to the inbuilt EPG, but isn't passing much information to the guide apart from the channel name.

I've installed iVue EPG, which picks up all of the information, but just does not seem to see Simple Client at all.

I've seen that the simple client does not show up in the main addons list but routes to the TV tab.

  1. Is there any way for Simple Client to be routed into iVue?
  2. Is there a better alternative to Simple Client that will show up in the Addons tab?
  3. Is there a better EPG I can use?

Simple Client should do the job. If you're only getting channel name, it could be that you're only accessing channel list and not the guide section. Check out a few tutorials for screenshots of what you should be seeing, as a few custom skins mess up the interface with EPG trying to do too much.

Which provider are you using? If you're getting the channel names, the show info should also populate. Maybe your provider is lacking in the EPG department and doesn't send very much info besides the channel names.

There is apparently a way to integrate a separate EPG with the PVR, but as far as I know it's pretty labour intensive. If all your shit is set up correctly, might be better to switch providers [or at least get a trial with someone else to see if their EPG works].

In the configure of Simple PVR, you must provide a XML file of the guide.

Ok I think I have this one fixed. It's possible to turn a m3u link into a xml. I found a tutorial and now I can use the built in epg
