NOOB Question on Which IPTV Gear to Use

by cynalan

Hey guys, I've done a lot of reading on this board and have learned a lot about specs for Android boxes. However, I wonder if I really need one. For the last couple of days, I have been testing a couple of providers using my Firestick 4K. I also tried streaming using VLC on my laptop. Even my LG Smart TV has an app that I could use for IPTV. I have been disappointed with the image quality using the Firestick. Even HD casts seem dull and are sometimes buffering. Here is my question, would I get significantly better image quality by using an Android Box? If yes, I have been considering Z7+, Buzz, Dreamcast or Nvidia TV Shield. I suspect the latter may be overkill as I do not game but I do want to use IPTV and already use KODI and Showbox. Thanks for any help. btw I am streaming to an LG 4K 65" TV and have 100MBS internet service.

Its not the stick it the provider where your streams originate. Try a differnt iptv provider, im watching in 1080 60fps on the shittiest android box you can buy

The Nvidia shield is a really nice piece of hardware.

Personal opinion here: don't waste your time with a pre-loaded android box. You don't know what will be on it, and it will likely run like dog shit. I have a ASUS Chromebox running stock Android that boots straight into STB Emu, which works perfectly as I only need it for IPTV. You could do the same with any other box (Chromebox is a little overkill considering the i7 processor in it, but I just happened to have it lying around doing nothing), just bear in mind it will take a little work on your part.

Given the options you have, if this is purely for IPTV purposes I'd just go for Smart STB on your TV. You lose the ability to move it around but it's just so much easier having an app built into your TV. One device, one remote, simple. There's a small fee for Smart STB but worth it.

Get the Nvidia Shield or Apple TV 4K then get several free trials from diff resellers from /r/iptvresellers and subscribe to the one that works best for you. You'll get good support from the resellers here. You do this, you'll thank me later.

Kodi sux now don't bother with it ..

use android apps such as IPTV Extreme pro or IPTV smarters to watch iptv .. some iptv have low bitrate channels and poor quality.

I will send you link to a IPTV I bought of ebay 12 months $25us still working since nov 2018.
