Unlocking a Mag 322

by Lordplantpot

I have a weirdly locked MAG 322 I cannot see the portals section to add a portal etc. I have flashed the firmware successfuly with various firmwares both from the inner portal bit or by doing it just after boot in the BIOS section. I have also reset to factory settings on nand1 and nand2. That always did the trick before on other locked boxes on both mag 254 and mag 322 but no matter what I do I cannot factory reset this mag 322 any tips would be welcome.

toss the box and get rid of it. MAG is no longer friendly to those of us who use pirate IPTV services.

Which server did you use to cause it to block

If you can connect to the box through an SSH client, you can reset the URL for portal1 or portal2 with the fw_setenv command, or failing that you can flash a stock Infomir firmware and then fix it over SSH.

There's an environment variable set by some providers that tells the box to hide portal URLs, and reflashing with a different firmware will only reset it if that firmware explicitly sets the variable back to 0.

If the value of an environment variable isn't set in the firmware you're flashing then the box will retain it's existing setting.

Try factory reset 3 times then flash, then reset default values again 3 times and the portal option will be back

Just Try to change DNS of your box in inner portal network select auto DHC manual DNS and put Google DNS 8.8.8.8 or IBM DNS 9.9.9.9 for works great with Google DNS

Hello,

Guys after many hours I have managed to solve my issue:

if portals are not visible.

do the below (in my case MODE 3 worked):

Three emergency boot modes are supported. They are signaled by means of LED indication:

Mode 1 (LED white, slow blinking) . Selecting alternative NAND - if for some reason download or update of the software from the current memory bank has not been successful, this mode switches the loading from the alternative flash memory bank;

Mode 2 (LED white, quick blinking). Reset to factory settings - if some STB settings do not allow to boot, you may need to reset the environment variables of the STB software to initial value;

Mode 3 (LED white, lights constantly) . Emergency startup - loading the System Recovery Utility menu via USB or over the network (requesting update data via DHCP protocol) - in some cases, if you can not boot from modes 1-2, this mode is used.

SSH in to the MAG 322 and run:

fw_setenv custom_url_hider=false
reboot

This will reenable portals editor in the GUI. If you don't have SSH open on your current firmware you can flash the pub version of the Official Infomir fw found at soft.infomir.com. After you reenabled the portals editor you can flash a noblock firmware back on to it.

The default pin for a Mag box is 0000. Some providers will change the pin so contact your provider (or previous provider) and ask what they have set it to.
