Best TV Brand for on-device IPTV?

by that-mark-guy

Seems our Hisense TV is dying, so going to buying a new one soon. There’s so much choice out there so wondering what the best brand of TV is for on-device IPTV (i.e. just install an app).

Had a Phillips android tv a few years ago which was really good

Buy a cheaper brand one like Vizio and get yourself a streaming device like fire tv or better yet Nvidia Shield TV.

You can use Smart IPTV on Samsung's smart TVs and on most LG models too iirc

Buy a dedicated box. You'll be far happier than using the POS software that is limited to your TV. You don't even need to spend a lot of money. A $50 android box from China will do the job. You could even use a firestick if you like to torture yourself.

I'm using Nvidia shield tv with Kodi for IPTV.

Better to focus on the quality of the tv and get something standalone like an android box. If you insist on getting a tv make sure that it has android os instead of some other custom os like on Samsung; that way it’s dealer’s choice when it comes to the application that you want to use. Perfect player is my preferred android app.

Totally agree. Samsung & lg make lovely tvs, but the app stores are limited for iptv apps. smartIPTV works...its ok. But smartSTB is a better apk&pretty much youre only choices on Samsung. Sony Tvs use Android OS, so you have the playstore & many other sources to grab whatever apks you want....but they can be buggy. So using a dedicated box/stick for streaming is deffo the way to go. You can & i do use PerfectPlayer, STBemu, IPTVExtreme direct on my Sony....but it runs better from an independent device

For the best quality go for LG, there is a lot of IPTV apps in the LG store (SmartSTB, SmartIPTV, SS IPTV... Etc) You can also go for a cheap TV and use a cheap AndroidTV Box or FireTV stick

Go for Sony Tv I personally used many brand but Sony the best. Quality and durability are very important. Sony TV keep performing great, upscale and motion controls r the best. Colour is very accurate out of the box, no need to calibration. I have 55xe9005 .. U can't beat it. I use perfect Player which works better than my android box. I play 19 gig 4k movies on USB ports so easy to read it. I connected 1 gig hdd, kodi, vpn... Etc app.

Sony tvs run Android TV, pretty flexible

If you want to use IPTV you need to be looking for the tech they have one them. You'll probably be looking for one with the Android Store otherwise your restricted. But Sony/LG/Hisense make good TVs :)

Sony android TV..... I paid $1500 for my 49" Sony Bravia 8-9 years ago??? It's in my bedroom, slightly sluggish, but does IPTV quite well whereas I don't need another device connected to it to use. It was one of the first waves of 4K Android TV's. The higher end Sonys will have better processors in them resulting in a better experience. Nice to have google play store right in the menu and can side-load most apps. Considering how old my TV is already, I feel like it has another 10 years of life in it. In the living room I have a dumb tv even older than that, can't wait till it dies so I have an excuse to get me another Sony and toss all these silly boxes with it.

Samsung is the best
