So I have an LG tv with WebOS. I saw they have an STB Emu and Smart IPTV app available. The question that I have is, once configured and the IPTV service is functioning normally. What happens when I turn off my LG tv? Does the iptv or STB Emu app completely turn off? If so, doesn't that present a delay while the app relaunches and establishes connection with the portal?
If you turn the tv off everything turns off, its not magic lol
I have smart iptv and smart stb on my LG, i use smart stb solely really i just have smart iptv incase the first doesn’t work so i can check for issues with the program before i bother providers .
Smart stb probably takes slightly longer to start back up that smart iptv but the interface is better plus support for catch up if the provider supports it and supports providers epg rather than forcing its own
I guess it takes maybe 30 seconds to get onto choosing a channel all in if i factor in turning tv on, waiting for smart service to start, choosing the app and waiting for the portal to load.
If thats an issue then you probably want a standalone box for your iptv
