IPTV freezes and buffers constantly, but friends on the same service never have problems. Internet speed and connectivity isn't the culprit. Ideas?

I'm using an IPTV service on my Firetv 4K stick, and have 4 other friends who are doing the same. We all have our own IPTV accounts with the same provider, and are all using the same SmartersTV app, same version, on the same 4k Firetv sticks.

My service constantly buffers, and theirs do not. My internet speed is 60 down and 10 up. Some of theirs are substantially slower, even as low as 30 down. I've done speedtest tests at different times of the day, and while the buffering is happening, and the speed is always high, right around 60mbps. The Firetv is RIGHT beside the router, so signal strength is not the culprit either. I've tried both the 2.4GHz connection and the 5.0 connection.

The only variable between myself and my friends is that they all live in the same town about 20 minutes away and I live in a different down. But I don't live in the middle of no where, it's an established and perfectly fine city. Is it because they're using fiberoptic connections? My internet connection is cable. But nothing else freezes (4k streaming youtube, streaming Netflix HD, etc). I can literally be on the phone with them and say "go to channel XYZ and let me know what happens". They'll say it's perfectly fine, streaming smoothly, while when I'm watching at the same time at my house, it buffers every 5 seconds and is completely unwatchable.

I've cleared the cache. I've restarted the Firetv multiple times. I've restarted the router multiple times. I've spoken to my internet provider, they say it's nothing on their end, and I think I agree. This has been happening since I first got a Firetv and IPTV almost 2 months ago.

Why is only IPTV streaming buffering for me and none of my other 4 friends who are using the same service provider as me? Thanks.

It could be your internet provider is throttling your speed when they notice something streaming they are not aware of. Try using a VPN and see if that fixes it.

But your Internet Providers are different and you might be throttled (they're cutting down your speeds so you stop doing what you're doing). Like someone recommended, get a VPN, most of them have free trials or huge discounts - try NordVPN, Private, Express or any other

try change your router dns to open dns ..

My only other solution is to do a 24 hour trial of another service and see if that solved the problem. Sometimes if the information come from a different provider it might make a difference but it shouldn't. Maybe your friends are also watching different streams/channels than you.

How far is your stick from router. Have you done an actual speed test from the device itself. Tried factory resetting your stick?

Buffering isn’t abnormal with IPTV but your case sounds unusable. I’d try a hard wired device and a different provider. Sounds crazy but I needed to try 3-4 providers before I got a “dependable” service. Even now I have to restart my browser occasionally.

I had that problem, even I got a premium VPN service. After some searches, I found out it could be the DNS Servers from my ISP being slow. I can set up up to 3 DNS Servers, I chooses the fastest ones (Google has some) and got my issue resolved.

You must compare with hard wired to your router.

You can get an ethernet adaptor for the Firetv.
