I've been using kodi, but it's too much for her and I'd like to find a really easy to use app compatible with epg.
Thanks in advance!

use perfect player and customize the crap out of it. Go through the big playlist with her and favorite any channels she can see herself watching, then only show favorites. It will take it from a stupidly huge list with different groups to a smaller more manageable one.
STBEmu if you’re on an Android type device, IMO
Check out SolarPlayer - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=io.solarplayer.app
Feels most like a regular cable box to me. It's Android TV and Mobile compatible, which is nice for familiarity if she's using both. I wasn't sure which you were asking for.
If only for Android TV OS (not Android TV boxes), I'd go for about anything that links into the factory Live Channels app...add Pluto TV as a secondary Live Channels source, in addition to IPTV (or in case your IPTV is down for whatever reason) while you're at it! TVirl is works well for IPTV > Live Channels integration, but there are a few to choose from, they all do roughly the same thing as far as integrating goes.
STBemu works just like a cable box. The best (my Polish MIL can even use it)
thanks, I'll check them 👌🏻
Smarters Pro is also great, fast and use-friendly to use. Works with pretty much any remote and you don't need old-school remotes to use it like for STBEmu (lots of functions are limited). Smarters Pro runs on any android device and loads EPG really fast, supports catch-up, recording and VOD.
Grab a ZIP box. It's like a cable box. Can't beat it.
What I did with my dad with great results was to upload the iptv smarters pro apk to a web page. I then created a short link for the link and made him use Downloader in his firestick. I then created a custom M3u with only the channels he watches organized in easy to understand groups. Voila. Happy parent
Tivimate says not compatible on my Samsung, anyone got an apk link?
try zaltv not as nice as tivimate but really is pretty much anything proof used it for months on the oldman never had a complaint.
"I want to watch TV but I hate technology."
Our app EnTV Q with a sky q like interface with full guide but exclusive to our subscriptions
If it is a paid service, most have very user friendly apks (we do - Pyramid TV). You just install it, log in and go :-)
