Roku Any hope ?

by appandweb

Few months ago i purchased a ROKU device to connect and iptv service to it . After i paid some good money for it i discover that they have removed the app that can load an iptv list . Since then it is on my shelf with what i consider money wasted . Is there any hope that they will get back those players ?

And since these players were reported as illegal and they got removed , why Smasung and LG smart tvs still have the smart iptv app in there stores ? is there any chance that this will be removed as well ?

These are some of the apps I've been using: TVCast , Server Cast , Web Video Cast , I'm sure there are more but these are simple enough for me. There is no way to get a TV guide or even channel list on the Roku, but these apps will allow you to cast the stream to it, and I don't think it's actually a "cast" like a Chromecast, I can turn off my phone/tablet and the stream keeps playing on the Roku (stream stick in my case), I think it just gives the Roku the link. Also, the streams have to be in m3u8, ts don't seem to work. The TVCast app also accepts an EPG link so you can see EPG on there if you want, the other 2 only handle the stream links, no EPG.

Plex and emby do work but you will need to spend some time on goggle and YouTube if you want to learn how

iptvclouds support sent me a tutorial how can i activate and watch iptv on Roku but it is so hard to follow the steps , i think iptvs should remove that there services is supported by ROKU !

now i do not know what to do with this device :(

but again can someone explain why ROKU stopped iptv playes while samsung and LG still support smart iptv players in there stores ?

Roku removes apps where they think the main purpose is likely to be IPTV (and they ban the developer account). While the app is not illegal, Roku is likely under heavy pressure from the movie and TV companies to prevent their devices from being used for IPTV. As a large US corporation they want to avoid being taken to court for enabling copyright violation. Don't expect to see new apps on your Roku that fully support IPTV.

This is similar to the approach from Amazon who have removed apps such as Perfect Player from their app store and Infomir (who make Mag boxes) blocking some IPTV services. They are big corporations who have been put under pressure.
Sansung/LG - I think that I read somewhere that Smart IPTV has been removed in Italy. Yes, there is a chance that they will be removed at some point for the rest of the world.

Roku is the worst device for sideloading apps. Most Iptv services do the support it. I would never buy a Roku if you aren't planning on using it solely for Roku services.

I think All iptv providers must remove ROKU SUPPORTED from there sites , its a bit confusing ! you buy a Roku then you do not use it .
