Help! MYIPTV apk.

by robotic-gecko

So I've tried a few providers in the past, got a new Android box at Xmas, and decided to try out a new provider. Found a guy in my area on FB offering 1 year for £25 (UK obviously) he provided this MYIPTV app which I've used with other providers, and apart from the odd channel, it worked flawlessly.

Two weeks later, no network connection on all channels and trying to refresh the EPG. Head back to FB to inform the guy, and his account is deleted... All the messages are gone.

So what I'm asking is, obviously he never built this app, (I'm assuming he stored his providers playlist link into the app and gave me a username and password) so is there a way I can backwards engineer the APK to find the provider and find out if this is just a temporary problem or I've been done?

The app still says I'm subscribed till 2020.

UPDATE: Since posting, I've emailed the address I sent money to and got a reply. Basically someone fucked up on Facebook promoting the service and had their accounts removed, and their server blocked? Anyway they sent me a new app (linked to their new server) and when I signed in, everything worked again.

Thanks to all the users who helped me backwards engineer the android app! Interesting stuff!

Give The Pirate Corner a shout on FB. Another UK provider doing £25 for 1 year + £20 for VOD. They also seem to be doing deals on and off. Got 2 years Live TV + VOD for £30 with them.

Got it a couple days ago and very little issues on the main UK/US channels and I've heard on the grapevine they are helping some users that have been messed about by other providers.

So, I've reverse engineered the APK, and found the folders you'd expect from an android application, I have worked with Java before, but I'm new to android development, where should I be looking for URL to the server? It must be stored in the app because all I did was enter a Username & Password.

Sounds like you've been done I'm afraid. Just learn from it an never pay for a year. Monthly or 3 monthly at most

Some premium IPTV can be £25 pcm so maybe think of it that way. £15 pcm max is what I would pay but there are plenty of cheaper providers out there

The developer of MyIPTV app sold off his project to some provider (rumored to be Nitro) and has since stopped developing it outside of that provider. He basically told those of us who paid for the app that we were just SOL because he would not be updating/supporting the app anymore.

He’s still here on reddit, but has since made his sub private (or banned me after I complained, not quite sure).
